Accidents Happen

Paris is potty trained to go on a Wee Wee Pad and not on the Grass. I feel that the grass is too dirty for Paris' white fur.. HAHAHA.. Anyway... Last week Paris has been peeing all over the place but his wee2 pad.. I was frustrated.. WHY ... WHY.. WHY...

All this one year of training???

This weekend aws I wanted to do my weekly (bi-weekly ) cleaning of my apartment, I took out my Windex sprayer.. Yes it was meant to be used to clean the glass but I was running short on the floor cleaner.. As I meant to spray the Windex on the floor ( near the place where I usually put Paris' Wee2 Pad, I noticed something written on the Windex.. ENRINCHED WITH AMMONIA-D !!!!!)

SHRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

No wonder Paris has been peeing all over the floor......................... Last week I had used Windex to clean the floor as well..

Wondering why I shriek??

Ammonia has the same smell as dog/cat's urine... And knowing that dogs always pee where there is a urine smell on the place.. We now know why Paris had peed all over the floor.

Dog Tricks : Down

When your dog has mastered to do a Sit position, we can progress to do a Down Position...

Start your dog with a Sit position, bring treat in your hand ( always !). Start the treat on your dog's nose and bring the treat vertically down to the floor. If your dog is really attracted to the treat, he will follow the food and make a down position.. When your dog is in a Down position, Give him the treat and say "good boy/ good girl"

If your dog doesn't follow the treat and thus does not make a down position, try it again. Maybe try to get his attention by changing to another treats or a toy he love..

Tricks 101 : sit

Let me share how Paris learn how to do a Sit. First you hold a treat on your hand and make sure your dog is in the standing position. Show it to your dog, and then gently push the treat to your dog's nose so he automatically make a sit position. Once your dog reach the sit position, quickly give him the treat and say "Good Boy!! or Good Girl"

Do this about ten or fifteen times, everytime with a treat. Do about three rounds of 10-15 sits a day and your dog will surely know how to do a sit.

It was very easy with Paris because he really really loves food. He'll do anything for food. So if your dog does not love food so much, try to teach the trick in the morning before your dog has his meal, this way he will be able to concentrate on the treat more.

First thing First

"What??? What do you mean I am not allowed on the bed? "

Paris when he first came to our family.. HE was a small 4 pounds little cute dog!.

Paris before Training

Here is Paris when he was 14 weeks old. He had just found out that Tissue papers are great to play with.

Coton de Tulear 101

There are already many websites about coton de tulear. About its history, its breed's personality, its puppies and pictures, so why the heck am I writing another one?

Well of course, just to share my experiences with my coton. In mycotondetulear.blogspot.com, I hope to share with you guys how I trained Paris to be potty-trained ( 95% of the time ), to be an obidient dog ( 70% 0f the time ) and about his grooming, food, tricks, and his cute dog pictures.

I would really really appreciate it too if you guys can share to me what you want to hear about Paris : how he learns to do this or that , or what do I think about this and that? I ll try my best to help you.

Now shall we start?

Ten seconds after the first Picture

Yes! We all know who got the bone...

Introduction to Paris, my coton de tulear

Heya coton lovers!! I'd like to introduce you Paris ( yes the white one with the red bow on the left ). He's a one year old Coton de Tulear.

A coton de tulear is a rare breed dog that come from Madagascar. It was usually owned by the royals, and thus Paris has regalled me to be a royalty :)

In the picture, we were both vying for that big white bone in front of us. Notice how we were all in position to see which of us will reach the bone first....
